Communications Center

The Polk County Sheriff's Office Communications Center is a 24-hour, 365-day operation. We are the busiest Public Safety Answering Point, more widely known as 911, located within deep east Texas. All 911 calls for the entire county are answered in our communication center and then are transferred to the appropriate agency to create a quick and timely response to your emergency.

The Communications Center, in addition to answering 911 calls for the county, dispatches not only our patrol deputies but also many local and statewide law enforcement entities, such as Polk County Fire Marshall's Office, Polk County Constables Departments, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Parks and Wild Life and the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission.

The goal of the Communications Center is to provide a knowledgeable staff of communication operators that can assist you in your time of emergency or with any questions you may have.  This division is supervised by Kandyce Jones and Assistant Supervisor Jennifer Norris. It is under the command of Chief Rickie Childers.

It is the goal of the Warrants Division to enter all Felony, Class A, Class B, and some Class C warrants as soon as they are received by the Sheriff's Office. This allows dispatch to enter the information into the TCIC/NCIC system in a timely manner. We are also responsible for entering protective orders and the extradition of defendants that have been arrested by other agencies on our charges, and the transportation of all mental patients in Polk County.

The Warrants Division is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to answer your calls and requests.
